3 Scherzi 4 Strata #2 Lights

In January 2021, Kate was invited by audio-visual artist Nuno Veiga to compose the sound for his dance-film, #2 Lights, the second video in a series titled 3 Scherzi 4 Strata. Nuno was commissioned by Fundação Eugénio de Almeida to develop creative objects in response to Deanna Sirlin's Strata exhibition. The lines, colors and framing of the twenty windows of the Centro de Arte e Cultura occupied by the North American artist's installation were the pretexts of this dialogue that interrogates, occupies and explores the materiality of the exhibition.

Kate’s composition draws inspiration from the fragility of the voice mirroring the shifting light to create a shimmering interaction of voices on the brink of breaking.
