The Embodied Voice

Scroll

The Embodied Voice is a practice developed by Kate Smith combining singing, movement, mindfulness, and improvisation. Drawing on a range of techniques from yoga, contact improv, Viewpoints and more, the practice aims to explore how grounding ourselves in somatic experience – via movement and sensation – unlocks freedom and expression of the voice. It is a practice that can benefit anyone who wants to sound and feel better in their body and mind.

“By the end of the evening it was as if my body had always known exactly how to improv circle sing… and how to enjoy it.

Kate created a strong safe container for us to listen to our own, and each others, authentic voice”
– Dave
