Convex

Scroll

For several years, Kate was a regular performer with Convex, an artistic collaboration between performance makers Sarah Le Quang Sang and Lara Roig Guarch.

About Convex:

“We’re here to give threatened environments a voice. Convex focuses people’s attention on issues hidden outside of the public eye. Whether it’s development, pollution or commodification of space, places as we know them can disappear if we don’t watch out for them.

As a place disappears, so does its role in holding a community together. Through our lens, people and places form living ecosystems that we want to preserve and revive. The experiences we create use voice and movement to embody a place and the pressures against it.

Convex’s performances embrace our environments using melodic soundscapes and choral promenades. We immerse our participants in a collective experience to challenge their perceptions and provoke thoughtful awareness.”

Thalweg

THALWEG is a participatory singing promenade along the river Thames exploring the connection between world ethnic cultures and river rights.

Inner Circle

In a rapidly changing city, INNER CIRCLE reflects on the potential futures of public space. Upon the canvas of Arnold Circus gardens, Inner Circle juxtaposes the wishes of local groups for their ideal public space with how privatisation may potentially transform social behaviours.

Defense to Forbid

DEFENCE TO FORBID is an immersive promenade oratorio physic and sonically mapping the politics of Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS) in London and the UK. This performance is a funeral procession of lost public spaces to privatisation, a ritual lament and claim for democratic rights.
